visually unnerving, nauseating, uncomfortable, grim yet spectacular and flawless in every area, i simply cannot deny my admiration and love for this film.
lanthimos's auteurist ways and artistic vision never ceases to amaze me. the way he's able to manipulate the audience into laughing one moment at an image, to have them squirming and jolting their eyes away from the screen almost in an instant from that same image is truly remarkable filmmaking, you'll know what i mean when you see the end of the film.
the imagery and aesthetic of this film is so unique yet never shys away from the original, applied with his razor sharp presentation of what is to put bluntly, a masterpiece.
