zoë’s review published on Letterboxd:
The issue with hallmark movies is that absolutely nobody ever has chemistry with anyone...like ever. Not the leads, not the supporting characters...literally gives nothing 🙄
Also, the male lead was like “ACTING!! *insert man shouting loudly dressed in period clothing for an off broadway play” and the female lead was like “eh acting is fun...i guess.” Their acting wasnt bad per se, it was just two different tones 😭.
Also, WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO HER HAIR AT THE END?!?!?
Anyways, here’s my hallmark tracker:
white people ☑️
black side character with 3 lines ☑️ (not technically but there was the one nameless/faceless black guy who was playing the piano at the beginning so i’m going to say yes)
red and green color palette ☑️
free youtube background music ☑️ (yes and it was very annoying)
enemies to lovers: ❌ friends to lovers which is 🧑🏾🍳💋
small town ☑️
